Zaira obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Addiction Studies from the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton, Tx. She completed her master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Tx. She is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Zaira has received additional training in a variety of therapeutic approaches including EMDRia-approved EMDR training, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotions-Focused Therapy, (EFT), multiple trainings on trauma, domestic violence, grief, and many others.
The training Zaira has received has equipped her to help people with a variety of concerns. She provides services in English and Spanish and specializes in helping Hispanic women, ages 10 and up, who have endured traumatic experiences and/or struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, navigating adolescence, and parenting concerns.
As a Latina immigrant herself, Zaira is aware and understands many of the complexities the LatinX community experiences while living in the USA.
Zaira provides in-person services in Grapevine Tx and virtual (videocall) sessions to clients anywhere in Texas.
